Hmm... Under 150 and CAD?
Mine is 7600GT OC from BFG and it runs very smoothly. If you buy the one that's not overclocked it's only 129.99 (179.99 Original price) at a BestBuy where I live.
I bought mine about 3-4 months ago (250 back then) so it shouldn't be that expensive nowadays..
Try looking around and if you can afford one try GeForce 7 series because they have no problem running CS:S.
If you are into future games that are coming out like Crysis.. You have to buy two graphic cards thats about 600 dollars each..
I recommend GeForce 7 series because even if you get 8 series they don't have much of a difference except the fact that GeForce 8 series have shader 4 and can run DirectX10 and 7 series don't.
If you want to know what I mean take a look at this chart, It shows how much FPS came from playing the game Prey at 1600x1200 resolution tested from about 10 graphics cards.
http://i10.tinypic.com/67362l3
Mine is 7600 (4th from the bottom)
8600GT is right above it (about 200 bucks usually comes with PC's these days) There is only a 2.2 FPS difference between the 7 series card and the 8 series card.
So if you want something cheap and has a good performence get a GeForce 7 series (7600 - 7950) If you can get something with 512 ram get it because it will payoff. smile

if you can spend 300 - 330 i suggest getting 8800gts overclocked. fast as hell.

Lul 8800GTs are fast but they aren't as good as they seem except that they have Shader 4 and Directx10.
Double the 300 and get GTX and put another 100 on that for more ram and you get a pwnage PC. smile

Also if you are looking into just playing CS:S faster then you don't really need 8 series. XD
Even 6600GT might be good enough for CS:S smile

i do agree there. if its just for css then even the 6600gt's will work fine. and gtx and high end gaming memory will pwn for sure. and would be good for Crysis when it comes out. i can't wait for that game. I love FPS games.

I heard that the DX10 cards will be useless when 10.1 comes out, so you're probably better off buying a cheap card now and waiting until the 10.1 cards come out (I read something on the DZ forums yesterday about it, but I just got home and haven't checked it again)

Well it says that it will ship later on so you probably have a good 1-2 years of fun with your DX10 card,
also no one really buys graphics cards when it just comes out, and there is no point of getting DX10.1 that soon because
many games will be developed for DX10 and some maybe even for DX9 because not many people will have DX10.1 cards when it comes out. (Many people still have DX8 - 9 cards like me)
Gaming companies will do the right thing and do what will be the best thing for when they develop a game
and if not many people have DX10.1 cards then they won't make that much money from their game.
I think that I would still have lots of games to play even if I get a Dx10 video card. smile
